I stayed in Jelutong for two months and found it to be an excellent base for experiencing everyday life in Penang. Jelutong is a quiet, established neighbourhood with a relaxed residential atmosphere, while still being within easy reach of George Town and other parts of the island.
One of the neighbourhood highlights is Hamilton Food Park, which offers a convenient selection of local food in one place. Jelutong is also served by useful bus routes, making it possible to travel to George Town and explore the rest of Penang Island without always relying on a car.
